hi! i am

Rachel Waldorf

The Client: Rachel Waldorf, Seattle-area influencer and YouTuber

My Role: Designer: UI, Branding

When: Fall 2021

Tools Used: Wordpress, Illustrator

The Challenge

Rachel is a Seattle-based content creator and influencer. She is in a unique position being one of the few influencers that lives in Seattle and creates content about it. Rachel wanted a rebrand that stood out from other influencers. She isn’t selling services or brand discounts on her website, instead she’s using it as a portfolio and a blog.

Trend Research

Below are some moodboards Rachel and I developed with trending design aspects for the logo and web designs, keeping in mind her ideas of an edgy, vintage aesthetic.

Logo Ideation

The first and second rounds of logo ideation for her new brand. She wanted a warped sans serif (see moodboards above for examples).

Website Development

Rachel created a rough website concept in Canva (below) including a landing page + blog page that was really helpful to guide my design. Because Rachel knew what she wanted, I moved from user research and straight into competitor analysis.

Competitor Analysis

I benchmarked multiple influencer and non-influencer websites, to get a feel of what was trending in both spaces. Since Rachel didn’t want her website to look like a typical influencer website, we leaned towards researching art and model portfolios and influencer e-commerce websites. Below are some examples.

Final Website

Including a bright yellow animated serif photo with a blurry highly saturated photo of Rachel as the hero image.
Links to the main website are kept simple, on the top right.
